School for Guide Dog Trainers accepting application for 2020 school year

JGDA's School for Guide Dog Trainers is accepting students for the coming school year, starting from April 2020.

Guide Dog Trainer’s School opened as a very first one of a kind in April 2004.

It has been 15 years since then and many of our graduates are now workingat the center of our movement, including guide dog training, breeding, whelping, research, public education and more.

The training and mobility instruction techniques of Japan Guide Dog Association has definitely been progressed. We have been raising our guide dogs not with negative reinforcement but instead with ‘Dog Education,’ treating each dogs according to their character and teaching them to think. 

While we continue to support the independence of the visually impaired persons through safe and comfortable mobility with guide dogs, our guide dog satisfaction rate has been improving as well.

If you are interested in becoming a world-class guide dog trainer and mobility instructor, come and join us! Please note that all classes are only offered in Japanese and all application document should be submitted in Japanese.
