News

The ADI (Assistance Dogs International) Conference was held in Zagreb, Croatia, from September 10-13, 2023.
Although JGDA is not a member of ADI, ADI has been cooperating with the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF), of which our association is a member, in recent years, holding joint board meetings twice a year, hosting mutual webinars for both members and preparing joint statements on dog welfare.

JGDA staff at the conference

It was the first time for JGDA to participate in the ADI conference. Our staff toured the host organisation's facilities, participated in research presentations by other associations and experts, and interacted with overseas assistance dog schools.

International Affairs has continuously focused on international collaboration to serve the visually impaired with our guide dog movement. Attending international conferences allows us to meet staff from other schools and receive new information about our field.

We will continue to actively participate in the international guide dog movement to maintain and improve our guide dog services for the visually impaired persons in Japan.
